Lighthouse, the construction industry charity, is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families. They receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within in the industry to help them continue their vital work.
Altrad’s partnership with Lighthouse will support it to provide a range of pro-active support resources for the construction community including a 24/7 construction industry helpline and complementary app, along with wellbeing and mental health training.
The partnership between Altrad and Lighthouse will provide the charity with much needed funding so that it can continue to deliver the emergency financial and emotional support that the construction workforce and their families so desperately need.
Bill Hill, CEO for Lighthouse, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation from Altrad and this will go a long way towards helping our construction workers in crisis. It is through partnerships such as this that we can not only support more people but ensure that our construction community knows where to reach out for support if they need it.”
Altrad’s Managing Director, Tony Jester, said:
“It’s a heart-breaking and very sobering thought, but statistically you are six times more likely to die from suicide than you are from a fall from height, whilst working in construction (source: construction industry helpline). So it goes without saying, we are delighted to form our partnership with Lighthouse, which allows us to support the construction workforce and their families, at their time of greatest need”.
